Set in Korea during the Joseon Dynasty in 1645, this historical mystery follows Gyeong-su, a gifted acupuncturist with a visual impairment. Because he can see in the dark, Gyeong-su becomes an unlikely witness to the death of Crown Prince Sohyeon shortly after the prince returns from captivity in the Qing Dynasty. As King Injo struggles with paranoia and conflict with his son, Gyeong-su must navigate the dangers of the royal palace to reveal the truth about the prince's passing while avoiding those who wish to keep the event a secret.
The film was directed by An Tae-jin, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Hyun Gyu-ri. The cast features Ryu Jun-yeol as the protagonist, Yoo Hae-jin as King Injo, and Kim Sung-cheol as the crown prince, with a total of 30 credited actors. Produced by Next Entertainment World, CJeS Studios, and Damdam Film, the movie has a runtime of 118 minutes.
Audience reception has been generally positive, with a rating of 6.8/10 on IMDb based on 1,400 votes and a higher score of 7.3/10 on TMDB from 67 votes.
