Boiling Point

Boiling Point takes place over a single evening at a London restaurant, on the busiest night of the year, just before Christmas. Head chef Andy Jones arrives already worn down by personal troubles, only to find that a health inspection has downgraded the kitchen and that supplies are short for a fully booked service. With the kitchen staff under constant pressure and management at odds with the workers, Andy has to hold everything together while the dining room makes one demand after another.

Philip Barantini directed the film and wrote the screenplay with James Cummings. It was the first feature he directed, ahead of Accused, ONE SHOT with Ed Sheeran and Enola Holmes 3. Stephen Graham leads the cast as Andy Jones, alongside Vinette Robinson, Alice May Feetham, Jason Flemyng, Hannah Walters and Malachi Kirby. The production involved a cast of 28 credited performers and a crew of 76, and it was made across the United Kingdom, Germany and Australia.

The film runs 92 minutes and mixes drama and thriller. It drew a strong critical response, with a critics' rating of 7.9 out of 10 from 80 reviews, and audiences on TMDB rate it 7.3 out of 10 from 811 votes, so the two are fairly close.
