What's left behind the scenes
- Many of the children who appeared in the film were, in fact, refugees.
- The fish that periodically appears in the film is one of the symbols of Nowruz – the New Year holiday according to the astronomical solar calendar among Iranian and Turkic peoples. Nowruz is celebrated from March 21st to 23rd, and on March 20th, 2003, the US and its allies invaded Iraq and launched the war that the film discusses.
