Woman of the Hour

Set in 1970s Los Angeles, Woman of the Hour follows Sheryl Bradshaw, an aspiring actress who appears as a contestant on the popular television dating show The Dating Game. Among the bachelors competing for a date with her is Rodney Alcala, a charming and quick-witted man who is in fact a serial killer. Their paths cross on the episode while a series of murders goes unsolved in the city. The film is based on real events, centering on Alcala's 1978 appearance on the show and Sheryl's eventual reluctance to go through with the date.

The crime drama marks Anna Kendrick's feature directorial debut, and she also stars as Sheryl. Ian McDonald wrote the screenplay, and the cast includes Daniel Zovatto as Alcala, Nicolette Robinson, Autumn Best, Jedidiah Goodacre and Pete Holmes. Produced by Miri Yoon, Roy Lee and Raphael Margules with several production companies, the film runs 95 minutes.
