State of Consciousness

Stephen is living a comfortable life with a successful business when he suddenly learns he has been framed and faces a long prison sentence. An experimental therapy programme offers him a way out, on the condition that he is suffering from a psychological disorder. Once treated, he is told he is nearly well, but he senses that something is wrong and becomes determined to escape the institution holding him, where dreams and reality have begun to merge.

State of Consciousness is a 2023 thriller directed by Marcus Stokes, written by Guillaume Tunzini, Rylend Grant and Dikran Ornekian, and produced by Monika Bacardi and Andrea Iervolino. It is a co-production between Italy and the United States, and runs for 101 minutes. Emile Hirsch leads the cast as Stephen, alongside Tatjana Nardone as Alicia, Kesia Elwin as Dr. Fielder, Robin Mugnaini as Lazlo Sinclair, David Wurawa as Lester and Michael E. Rodgers as Toby Sinclair.
