Manodrome

Ralphie drives for Uber and dreams of becoming a bodybuilder. His girlfriend is pregnant, money is tight, and he is uneasy about his own body, so the future looks uncertain to him. Through a man he meets, he is drawn into a small group of men who follow a libertarian idea of masculinity. Ralphie is taken in by their charismatic leader, Dan, and the longer he stays, the more his buried wants push to the surface and his hold on reality slips.

John Trengove wrote and directed the film, his first feature before going on to make The Smell of Apples. The cast is led by Jesse Eisenberg as Ralphie, with Adrien Brody as Dan, Odessa Young as Sal, and Philip Ettinger, Sallieu Sesay and Evan Jonigkeit among the credited performers. The production was handled by Pulse Films, Felix Culpa, Liminal Content and Riverside Entertainment, with Riley Keough, Ryan Zacarias and Gina Gammell producing.

The film runs 96 minutes and was released in November 2023, a drama with mystery and thriller elements made between the United Kingdom and the United States. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.8 from around 4,200 votes, and on TMDB a rating of 5.1 from roughly 110 votes, both placing it below the level of a critics' score of 5.8 drawn from 35 reviews.
