A conductor from Munich takes her teenage son to a secluded island on the Atlantic coast during winter following an accident he had at school. Hoping to repair their fragile bond, the mother and son find themselves isolated in a cold, desolate environment. As they spend time together in a small beach house, years of silence and mutual misunderstandings emerge, pushing their strained relationship to its limits while the mother struggles with the tension between her familial duties and her professional ambitions.
Written and directed by Hanna Antonina Wojcik-Slak, this drama marks her fourth feature film. The movie stars Maren Eggert as Nina and Jona Levin Nicolai as Lars, with a supporting cast including Maryam Zaree, Juliane Siebecke, Mehdi Nebbou, and Gina Haller. The production was a collaboration between companies from Germany, Slovenia, and France, featuring cinematography by Claire Mathon and a score composed by Amélie Legrand. The film has a runtime of 87 minutes.
