Role Play

Emma leads a settled life in a New Jersey suburb with her husband Dave and their two children. What Dave does not know is that she also works as a hired killer. When the couple try to revive their marriage with a role-playing game in a hotel bar, that hidden life comes to light, and the same game draws the attention of a stranger named Bob. With Emma's cover blown and her family in danger, the two of them have to work together to survive. The film is an action comedy with romantic elements, directed by Thomas Vincent from a screenplay by Andrew Baldwin and Seth W. Owen, and produced by Andrew Rona, Kaley Cuoco and Alex Heineman for Studio Babelsberg, StudioCanal and The Picture Company. Kaley Cuoco plays Emma, David Oyelowo plays Dave, Bill Nighy appears as Bob, and Connie Nielsen, Rudi Dharmalingam and Lucia Aliu are among the cast. Vincent's second feature, Masterplan, followed in 2026. On IMDb the film holds a 4.9 out of 10 from 45 reviews, while on TMDB it has a 6 out of 10 from 668 votes. The audience score is therefore noticeably higher than the critics' rating.
