The Damned

In the 19th century, a young widow named Eva runs a remote Icelandic fishing outpost that she inherited after her husband died at sea. The settlement is cut off from the nearest village by snowbound mountain paths, and with winter tightening and food running short, the crew is already surviving on bait. When a foreign ship sinks offshore, Eva faces an impossible choice: attempt a rescue and risk exhausting what little the community has left, or leave the survivors to their fate. The decision weighs on the inhabitants, who come to believe they are being punished for it.
