We Have a Ghost

When Kevin Presley finds a ghost haunting his new home, the discovery turns his family into an internet sensation. The spirit, nicknamed Ernest after the late actor Ernest Borgnine, is harmless rather than frightening, and Kevin's father Frank builds haunted dinner-theatre shows around him that make the whole household famous online. The trouble starts when Kevin and Ernest set out to learn what happened to Ernest before his death, a search that puts them in the sights of the CIA.

Christopher Landon wrote and directed the film, the sixth of the seven features he has directed to date, arriving between Freaky and Drop. David Harbour plays Ernest, with Jahi Di'Allo Winston as Kevin, Anthony Mackie and Erica Ash as his parents, and Niles Fitch and Isabella Russo also in the cast. The production credits include Dan Halsted, Marty Bowen and Isaac Klausner among its producers, with 65 credited cast members and 62 credited crew.

Released in February 2023 and running 127 minutes, the film mixes adventure, comedy, family, fantasy and horror. On IMDb it holds 6.1 out of 10 from roughly 37,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.4 out of 10 from about 720 votes. A critics' rating of 5.2 out of 10 from 75 reviews sits below both audience scores, suggesting reviewers were less taken with the blend than general viewers were.
