A young graffiti artist named Toby makes a habit of breaking into the homes of wealthy Londoners and leaving his work on their walls. When he and a friend target the house of a respected judge, Hector Blake, Toby finds something in the basement that changes everything. What begins as vandalism turns into a dangerous situation that draws in his mother, Lizzie, and the people closest to him.
The film is a British crime thriller directed by Babak Anvari, who wrote the screenplay with Namsi Khan and produced it with Lucan Toh. It is Anvari's third feature, following Under the Shadow in 2016 and Wounds in 2019, and it precedes Hallow Road in 2025. George MacKay plays Toby, with Hugh Bonneville as Hector Blake and Kelly Macdonald as Lizzie Nealey. Percelle Ascott, Varada Sethu and Franc Ashman appear in supporting roles. The production involved New Regency Pictures, Film4 Productions and XYZ Films among its backers.
Released in August 2022, the film runs just under two hours. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.2 from roughly 39,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.3 from a much smaller base of about 870 votes, indicating modest but fairly consistent audience approval. A critics' score of 5.7 from 43 reviews places professional assessment slightly below the general audience response.
