Centauro is a Spanish action thriller about Rafa, a motorcycle racer who dreams of competing at a professional level. His life takes a sharp turn when he learns that the mother of his son has fallen into debt with a drug cartel. To protect his family, Rafa puts his riding skills to use for the criminals, working as a courier while trying to keep his racing career alive. The double life soon forces him into choices that put everything he cares about at risk.
The film is directed by Daniel Calparsoro, whose earlier credits include To Steal from a Thief, The Warning and Sky High. It was written by Gael Nouaille and Gemma Ventura González, and stars Àlex Monner as Rafa, alongside Begoña Vargas, Abraham Pérez Fernández, Édgar Vittorino, Carlos Bardem and Sebastian Ciontescu. It is a Spanish production from Borsalino Productions and runs 89 minutes. Released in June 2022, it is a remake of the French film Burn Out.
Reception has been modest. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.4 from around 1,700 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.1 from roughly 131 votes. Both figures point to a mixed response rather than a breakout success. Centauro arrived between Sky High and All the Names of God in the director's filmography.
