Reptile

Grant Singer's crime drama Reptile centres on Tom Nichols, a seasoned detective investigating the violent killing of a young real estate agent. As he works the case, he finds that little about it holds up under scrutiny, and the deceptions he uncovers begin to unsettle the certainties of his own life. Benicio del Toro plays Nichols, with Justin Timberlake as Will Grady, Alicia Silverstone as Judy Nichols, Michael Pitt as Eli Phillips, Ato Essandoh as Dan Cleary and Domenick Lombardozzi as Wally Finn among a credited cast of 45.

The film is Singer's second feature as director, following the 2020 documentary Shawn Mendes: In Wonder, and he wrote the screenplay with del Toro and Benjamin Brewer. It was produced by Molly Smith, Thad Luckinbill and Trent Luckinbill through Black Label Media, and runs 136 minutes.

Reptile was released in September 2023. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.8 from roughly 109,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.7 from about 1,288 votes, indicating a reasonably positive response from viewers, though on a much smaller sample there. A film critics' rating of 5.4 from 84 reviews places professional assessment noticeably below the audience scores.
