What's left behind the scenes

  • The film was shot in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland near Częstochowa, as well as on Morskie Oko island on the Oder river near Wrocław, where sets representing a Spanish town were constructed.
  • The film is based on the novel 'The Manuscript Found in Saragossa' (1797–1815) by Jan Potocki.
