Set in modern Singapore, this drama follows 21-year-old Junyang and his girlfriend as an unexpected event forces them to confront adult realities. Simultaneously, Junyang's father struggles to maintain their modest lifestyle while beginning a relationship with an energetic woman. These overlapping developments push both generations to re-evaluate their domestic bonds and the meaning of family.
The film was written and directed by Anthony Chen, following his previous works Wet Season, The Breaking Ice, Drift, and Reflection. Produced by Chen, Huang Wenhong, and Teoh Yi Peng, the project was a collaboration between Singapore and Australia, supported by the Singapore Film Commission, Giraffe Pictures, and the MPA APSA Academy Film Fund. The movie features Koh Jia Ler in the role of Junyang, with Andi Lim as Boon Kiat and Yeo Yann Yann as Bee Hwa. The supporting cast includes Regene Lim, Alaric Tay, and Yang Shi Bin. With a runtime of 157 minutes, the film explores themes of class, privilege, and inequality, specifically as they are highlighted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
