Next Sohee

Next Sohee follows So-hee, a high school student who takes a vocational training placement at a call centre, hoping it will lead to steady work. The reality is relentless pressure from a company concerned above all with performance figures, and the conditions she faces there are what set the story in motion. Detective Yoo-jin takes on the case and begins tracing what happened, uncovering more than the surface facts suggest. The film is a drama with thriller elements, directed and written by July Jung and released in Korea in late 2022.

July Jung's second feature, it came eight years after her debut A Girl at My Door, and she returned to the director's chair with Dora in 2026. Kim Si-eun plays So-hee and Bae Doona plays Yoo-jin, with Jung Hoe-ryn, Kang Hyun-oh, Park Woo-young and Lee In-young among the supporting cast. The production credits list 98 cast members, and the crew behind it included producers Kim Dong-ha and Kim Ji-yeon.

The film took about 1 million US dollars worldwide. Audience scores sit at 7.2 out of 10 on IMDb, from roughly 2,300 votes, and 7.3 out of 10 on TMDB, from around 144 votes. A critics' rating of 7.8 out of 10 from 18 reviews places it somewhat above those audience figures.
