Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls

Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls is a 2023 American comedy-horror film written and directed by Andrew Bowser. It follows Marcus Trillbury, known as Onyx, an amateur occultist who has long hoped to be accepted by the circle around his idol, Bartok the Great. When an invitation finally arrives, Onyx travels to Bartok's mansion with other followers of the occult to take part in a ritual meant to summon an ancient demon. Suspecting that Bartok has his own agenda, Onyx finds the evening going wrong, and he and the other guests are drawn into a struggle involving monsters, mystery and mayhem as they try to protect themselves from what the ritual releases.

Jeffrey Combs plays Bartok the Great, with Olivia Taylor Dudley as Farrah, Rivkah Reyes as Mack, Terrence 'T.C.' Carson as Mr. Duke and Arden Myrin as Shelley. Bowser stars as Onyx himself and also wrote and directed the film, which he produced with Clark Baker; the credited cast runs to twenty-two performers. The film is the first feature Bowser directed, ahead of The Decedent and Frankenbabes from Beyond the Grave!, both from 2025.

Running 110 minutes, the film was released in October 2023 and has drawn modest audience attention: it holds a rating of 6.2 from around 2,900 votes on IMDb, and a 6 out of 10 from a much smaller pool of 42 ratings on TMDB.
