Short description
Following the latest Ghostface killings, the four survivors leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Courtney Cox, who played Gale, was the first member of the cast to sign a contract to return to her role from previous films in the franchise. She later said that she signed the contract without a second thought because she enjoys playing Gale (the actress even jokingly stated that she would play Gale without any fee).
  • According to the film's production designer, Michelle Laliibert, no props remained from the previous films in the franchise, so everything had to be recreated from scratch.
  • Neve Campbell refused to return to the screen as Sidney due to financial disagreements with Paramount Pictures.
  • Costume designer Avery Plewes created 200 costumes for filming scenes in the subway with 140 extras. Approximately 45 extras changed outfits after exiting the train, then reappeared on the platform in different costumes.
  • Representatives of Radio Silence Productions stated that the absence of actress Neve Campbell among the film's cast "noticeably" changes the plot, and they decided to focus on other characters, particularly the four survivors from the previous film in the franchise. It was also stated that Campbell may return to the franchise in future films.
  • The subway scene was filmed without a green screen. According to cinematographer Brett Jutkiewicz, the filmmakers physically moved the subway train towards and away from the platform set.
