The Takeover

Mel Bandison is an ethical hacker whose life changes after she prevents a data breach involving a high-tech self-driving bus. This action inadvertently dismantles an international criminal organization, making her a target for the group. To discredit her, the criminals use a deepfake video to frame her for a murder. While evading the police and the people blackmailing her, Mel seeks help from Thomas Deen, a man she previously met on a blind date, to prove her innocence.

Directed by Annemarie van de Mond, this action crime thriller is the third feature in her career, following HannaHannaH and Just Friends. The film was produced by Fiction Valley and features a cast including Holly Mae Brood, Géza Weisz, Susan Radder, Frank Lammers, Noortje Herlaar, and Walid Benmbarek. The screenplay was written by Tijs van Marle and Hans Erik Kraan.
