Short description
Jon and Garfield visit the United Kingdom, where a case of mistaken cat identity finds Garfield ruling over a castle. His reign is soon jeopardized by the nefarious Lord Dargis, who has designs on the estate.
What's left behind the scenes
- Prince was initially invited to voice the Prince (an American musician, singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, actor, and director). However, at the very last moment, he declined to participate in the project and was replaced by Tim Curry. All previously animated scenes had to be redrawn.
- The antagonist Lord Dargis (played by Billy Connolly) owes his surname to Manole Dargis, a critic from The New York Times who literally tore apart the first film of the franchise (Peter Hewitt, 2004).
- A third Garfield movie was planned, but due to the box office failure of the second film in the franchise, plans for its creation were abandoned.
- In the scene with the painting depicting the famous relatives of Garfield and the Prince, Jim Davis, the artist who created the Garfield comic strips, can be spotted.
