Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties

Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties follows the lazy orange cat and his owner Jon Arbuckle to England, where Jon hopes to propose to the veterinarian Liz Wilson. While there, Garfield is mistaken for a nearly identical cat who has inherited a grand country estate. Settling into a life of comfort far beyond his usual routine, he soon finds the estate under threat from Lord Dargis, a scheming relative with his own designs on the property. The castle's resident animals become caught up in the struggle.

Tim Hill directed the film, his third feature after Muppets from Space and Max Keeble's Big Move and before Alvin and the Chipmunks. Joel Cohen and Alec Sokolow wrote the screenplay, and John Davis produced. Bill Murray voices Garfield, with Breckin Meyer as Jon, Jennifer Love Hewitt as Liz, Billy Connolly as Dargis, Tim Curry as the aristocratic double, and Ian Abercrombie as Smithee. The credited cast runs to 50 names.

Released in June 2006, the film had a budget of 60 million dollars and took 142 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 5 out of 10 from 51,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.6 out of 10 from 2,386 votes. A critics' rating of 3.7 out of 10 from 76 reviews places it below the audience scores.
