The Mask of the Gorilla

Géo Paquet, a top intelligence agent known as The Gorilla, escapes from prison to pursue a clandestine mission. He must go undercover within a dangerous criminal organization that is transferring military secrets and sensitive documents to a foreign power. Because the group is led by a spy protected by diplomatic immunity, Paquet is forced to operate outside the law, hunted by both the police and the underworld as he attempts to dismantle the conspiracy.

Directed by Bernard Borderie, this 1958 French action drama was the first of seven films listed in the director's chronology, followed later by Vengeance of the Three Musketeers and several entries in the Angelique series. The screenplay was written by Antoine-Louis Dominique, Jacques Robert, and Borderie, with Raoul Ploquin serving as producer.
