Moloch

Betriek lives with her family near a peat bog in the northern Netherlands. After a stranger attacks her home one night, she seeks to understand why they were targeted. As she investigates the situation, Betriek becomes convinced that an ancient entity is hunting her and her relatives.

This horror mystery was directed by Nico van den Brink, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Daan Bakker. It is the second film in van den Brink's career, following the 2013 movie Homunculus. The production was a collaboration between NL Film en TV and XYZ Films. The cast features Sallie Harmsen in the lead role of Betriek, alongside Alexandre Willaume, Markoesa Hamer, Jack Wouterse, Anneke Blok, and Edon Rizvanolli.

Released on May 19, 2022, the film has received moderate reception from viewers. It holds a 6/10 rating on IMDb based on 8,300 votes and a 6/10 rating on TMDB from 188 votes. Film critics gave the movie a higher score of 7.3/10 based on 14 reviews.
