The Lulus

Set in northern France during August 1914, this film follows four orphaned boys between the ages of 10 and 15. After being accidentally left behind during an emergency evacuation of their orphanage, the group finds themselves stranded behind enemy lines as the German army advances. Joined by a young girl who has been separated from her parents, the children attempt to navigate the dangers of the First World War to reach neutral Switzerland.

The film was directed and written by Yann Samuell. Within his filmography, this project follows his 2011 film War of the Buttons and precedes his 2026 work Compostelle. The cast features François Damiens, Isabelle Carré, Ahmed Sylla, Didier Bourdon, Luc Schiltz, and Mathys Gros.
