Fairytale

Fairytale is an animated drama and fantasy film about the spirits of historical leaders who shaped the twentieth century. In a metaphysical dimension, the ethereal forms of Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill, Benito Mussolini, and Adolf Hitler dwell together. As they wait to be accepted by a supreme force, these figures reflect on their intimate thoughts and the fate of the planet.

The film was written and directed by Aleksandr Sokurov, following his previous works such as Stone, Mother and Son, Russian Ark, Faust, and Francofonia. Produced by Nikolay Yankin through Example of Intonation, this Russian and Belgian co-production has a runtime of 78 minutes.
