Set in Kyiv during the late 1990s, this drama follows Tonia, a teenager who moves to a new school in the city's outskirts. Seeking a sense of belonging and escape from her troubled past, she joins a group of rebellious youths navigating life after the collapse of the Soviet regime. Tonia soon finds herself caught in a complicated romantic triangle involving two boys, Dzhura and Sania, as she struggles to balance these new relationships with the burdens of her history.
The film was directed by Anna Buriachkova, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Maryna Stepanska. The lead role of Tonia was played by Alina Cheban, appearing alongside Zakhar Shadrin, Artur Aliiev, and Yelyzaveta Tsilyk. Produced by Rinkel Film, DGTL RLGN, and the Ukrainian Institute, the project was a collaboration between Ukraine, the Netherlands, and the Netherlands Antilles.
Since its release in September 2024, the movie has received moderate reception from viewers. It holds a rating of 6.2/10 on IMDb based on 495 votes and a slightly higher score of 6.6/10 on TMDB from 10 votes.
