Book Club: The Next Chapter

Book Club: The Next Chapter follows four close friends, Diane, Vivian, Sharon and Carol, who decide to take their long-postponed girls' trip by bringing their book club to Italy. What begins as a relaxing holiday soon goes off course, and once secrets surface, the getaway turns into a journey across the country.

Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen reprise their roles from Book Club, with Andy García and Don Johnson also returning. Bill Holderman directed the film, his second feature after the 2018 original, and wrote the screenplay with Erin Simms; both also produced, alongside Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Fifth Season and Makeready. The film was released on 11 May 2023 and runs 108 minutes.

Made for a budget of 20 million US dollars, it earned about 29 million worldwide, a modest return. On IMDb it holds 5.6 out of 10 from around 10,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.3 out of 10 from 228 votes. A critics' rating of 5.2 out of 10 from 116 reviews places it below the audience scores. The film is a comedy with romantic elements, and its credited cast numbers 26, with 62 crew members credited.
