The Settlers

Set in early 20th century Chile, this drama and western follows a wealthy landowner named José Menéndez. He employs three horsemen to mark the boundaries of his vast property and establish a route through Patagonia toward the Atlantic Ocean. As the expedition progresses, a young marksman named Segundo, traveling alongside an American mercenary and a British soldier, discovers that the true purpose of their mission is much more violent and involves the killing of indigenous people.

The film was directed by Felipe Gálvez, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Antonia Girardi. The cast features Camilo Arancibia as Segundo, Heinz K. Krattiger as Samuel, and Mark Stanley as MacLennan, with Alfredo Castro portraying Menéndez. The production was a multinational effort involving companies from Germany, Argentina, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Taiwan, France, Chile, and Sweden.
