Shogun's Joy of Torture

Set during the Edo period in Japan, this drama and horror film presents three separate stories connected by the theme of torture. A young magistrate reflects on these tales, which focus on women who commit serious crimes and the brutal punishments they face. The narratives include a relationship between a brother and sister, a forbidden romance between a monk and a nun in a strict convent, and a talented tattoo artist who observes the suffering of women to perfect his work.
