Elektra

Elektra is an action fantasy film about a skilled assassin who takes on a contract to kill a man and his young daughter, then changes her mind and chooses to defend them instead. Her targets are being hunted by a secret organization of supernatural warriors, and protecting them puts her on a collision course with the people who once hired her. The story follows the character introduced in Daredevil, who has recovered from injuries and now works as a killer for hire, trained in martial arts by a blind mentor. Jennifer Garner reprises the title role, with Goran Visnjic as the father, Kirsten Zien as his daughter, Terence Stamp as the mentor and Will Yun Lee among the assassins sent after them. Rob Bowman directed, working from a screenplay by Zak Penn, M. Raven Metzner and Stuart Zicherman.

The film was released in January 2005 and runs 97 minutes. It was made for about 43 million dollars and took in roughly 57 million worldwide, a modest return. Audiences have rated it 4.7 out of 10 on IMDb from around 105,000 votes, and 5 out of 10 on TMDB from about 2,700 votes, while the critics' rating stands at 3.9 out of 10 from 164 reviews.

It was Bowman's fourth feature, following Airborne, The X-Files and Reign of Fire.
