Born in 1980 in Kingsey Falls, Quebec, Karl Lemieux has directed a number of experimental films, including Mouvement de lumière / Motion of Light (2004), Western Sunburn (2006), Mamori (2010), Quiet Zone (2015) and Yujiapu (2017). He has given many live cinema performances with avant-garde musicians, including the band Godspeed You! Black Emperor, which he joined in 2010.
