Dimitris Papadopoulos in his studies dealt with pedagogy, social exclusion, film education/education and media education/literacy. He holds a PhD from the Film Department of Aristotle University. In his thesis he investigated the modern developments in film education. It proposes the connection of film theory, cultural studies and critical pedagogy as the basis of a theoretical model of film education. He teaches issues of Film Education/Education at the Department of Cinema of AUTH as well as issues of the relationship between Culture, Art and Education at the Department of Creative Media and Industries of the University of Thessaly. He has scientific publications and articles. He is the author of two books. He has organized numerous film education workshops for students and teachers. In the framework of the workshops, a number of short films have been created. He has directed short films and documentaries as well as three feature-length documentaries with entries and awards at numerous international festivals. He is also involved in photography (he has two solo exhibitions and awards).
