Short description
After an au pair's tragic death, Henry Wingrave hires a young American nanny to care for his orphaned niece and nephew who reside at Bly Manor with the estate's chef Owen, groundskeeper Jamie and housekeeper, Mrs. Grose. What's left behind the scenes
- Dani stays in room 217. This is a reference to Stephen King's novel 'The Shining' (1977). King is a great admirer of the series 'The Haunting of Hill House' and Flanagan's work in general, while Flanagan is a great fan of King's works.
- The episode titles are taken from the stories of Henry James (1843-1916).
- This is the 35th adaptation of Henry James's 1898 novella 'The Turn of the Screw'. A few months before the series premiered, the film 'The Turn of the Screw' (Floria Sigismondi, 2020) was released, a remake providing a modern version of the plot.
