Short description
When the crew of the Kinloch Bravo find themselves cut off from all communication with the Scottish mainland by a mysterious fog, they must fight to find a way home whilst managing environmental pressures, mounting paranoia and rising tensions. But as the threat facing them reveals itself to be something beyond their wildest imagination, the divided crew must form an alliance to ensure survival.

What's left behind the scenes
- Marc Bonnell's character reads the book "The Kraken Wakes" by John Wyndham (1903-1969). First published in July 1953, the novel tells the story of an attack on humanity by aliens who can only exist under immense pressure, and therefore base themselves on Earth only in the deepest parts of the ocean.
- The names of some characters—at least Magnus (played by Ian Glen), Hutton (Owen Teale), Murchison (Stuart McCurry), and Dunlin (Richard Pepple)—are actually the names of oil fields in the North Sea west of Norway.
