Short description
Mira is an American movie star disillusioned by her career and a recent breakup, who comes to France to star as “Irma Vep” in a remake of the French silent film classic, “Les Vampires.” Set against the backdrop of a lurid crime thriller, Mira struggles as the distinctions between herself and the character she plays begin to blur and merge.

What's left behind the scenes
- Olivier Assayas suggested that Maggie Cheung appear on screen again as herself, but she refused, stating that she was finished with cinema. Assayas nevertheless found a way to show Maggie Cheung on screen by using footage from his own 1996 film, Irma Vep.
- The name of the main character in "Mira" is an anagram of the word "Irma," and "Irma Vep" is an anagram of the English word "vampire."
