What's left behind the scenes
- The following statement was made after the death of one of the characters, Mr. Big, in the very first episode: "Mr. Big lived life to the fullest, indulging in drinks, cigars, and steaks. All of this was unhealthy, and he had already suffered a heart attack in Season 6. Thus, the cause of death was his lifestyle and even a family history of similar health problems, which often plays a role. His use of the exercise bike could only delay the inevitable." The very next day, shares of the exercise bike manufacturer (Peloton) saw a 10% increase.
- Katie Anne, who played Lily Goldenblatt, claimed that she had not watched a single episode of the original series or any of the movies.
- Kim Cattrall did not return to the role of Samantha Jones. She was not invited to the series after negotiations between her representatives and the show's creators regarding the third "Sex and the City" movie fell through. The actress herself has repeatedly stated that she is finished with the role of Samantha and will not return to it—neither in films nor in the series reboot. Some trade publications attributed this decision to a conflict between Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker.
- Working on the series required a more meticulously prepared approach to filming than the work on 'Sex and the City' (1998-2004). This was due to a higher likelihood of leaks and greater interest in the filming from paparazzi and onlookers compared to what accompanied the production of the original series.
- Charlotte's new dog is named Richard Burton, after the once-famous Welsh actor (1925-1984). Her previous dog was named Elizabeth Taylor, after the Anglo-American stage and screen actress (1932-2011) who was married to Burton twice.
- Steve's hearing problems reflect the real-life hearing issues of David Eigenberg, the actor who played the character.
