What's left behind the scenes
- The filming period was from August 23, 2021, to July 11, 2022.
- Although the opening credits state that the events of the series are not based on real occurrences, much of it happened in reality: the plane crash shown in episode 8 refers to November 29, 1987, when a Korean Air Boeing 707-3B5C on passenger flight KE858 from Baghdad to Seoul via Abu Dhabi and Bangkok was bombed by North Korean terrorists over the Andaman Sea; the South Korean government's declaration of war on organized crime on October 13, 1990, shown in episode 10; the renaming of the Agency for National Security Planning to the National Intelligence Service in 1999, shown in episode 12; and the so-called Gangneung incident in episode 13—the infiltration of a North Korean diversionary reconnaissance group into South Korea in September 1996 and the subsequent search and capture operations.
