What's left behind the scenes
- The series was filmed in late 2022 in Auckland and near Mount Te Aroha (the mountain is given a different name in the series). The project's creators adhered to a policy of inclusivity, so about 40% of the crew were Māori, and approximately 5% of the lines were spoken in the Māori language.
- Before his acting career, Wayne Hapi worked with troubled youth, and the role of Buster Guyi is similar to his past professional experience.
