What's left behind the scenes
- Alfred Molina played Sam by drawing on his own experience of losing a loved one.
- In one episode, Alfred Molina's character sees a golden idol from Steven Spielberg's adventure action film 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' (1981), in which he played the supporting role of Satipo, marking his cinematic debut.
- Sets of the city's business center were constructed for the filming, featuring shops with fully functional coffee machines inside.
- In June 2026, Netflix announced the cancellation of the series after its first season. Rumors suggest the decision was made due to low ratings and high production costs, including the substantial salaries of famous actors.
- Bill Pullman drew on his own life experience to portray Jack. As part of the Hollywood Orchard initiative, he inspired his neighbors to harvest fruit from local trees, which was subsequently distributed to those in need.
- While preparing for filming, the project's creators visited several nursing homes. They noticed that entire families would gather for 'karaoke nights.' Visitors often brought urns containing the ashes of loved ones who had also loved karaoke in life. This fact lends the project a special atmosphere. The authors view life and death not as opposites, but as phenomena that coexist and interact.
