What's left behind the scenes
- In the series 'Inspector Morse' (1987-2000), Morse and Lewis worked at the Thames Valley Police station (such a station does indeed exist in Oxford). In the series 'Lewis' (2006-2015), Lewis and Hathaway serve in a fictional police station because the creators were not granted permission to use the name, uniforms, or badges of the Thames Valley station, nor permission to film there. It is believed that this was due to stricter security requirements introduced because of the Iraq War, or possibly due to the stance of the new chief of police.
- On good days, they managed to shoot no more than 5 minutes of screen time.
