Short description
After an epically unfiltered rant, an arrogant, loudmouth U.S. Army Colonel is reassigned to the Netherlands, where he is punished with a command position at the least important army base in the world.
Seasons
What's left behind the scenes
- Denis Leary borrowed many traits for his character (he played US Army Colonel Patrick Quinn) from George S. Patton, a World War II general whose life he spent many years researching.
- The idea for the series originated with screenwriter and showrunner Joel Church Cooper and was based on his own memories of how the US Army closed one of its military bases in the Netherlands.
- In the US, the expression "going Dutch" means splitting the bill among everyone visiting a restaurant or drinking establishment. The roots of this expression go back to the rivalry that accompanied the British and the Dutch in the construction of their global empires.
