What's left behind the scenes
- The series makes extensive use of Japanese folklore, which is reimagined and presented from very unexpected perspectives.
- Lum's image is based on Agnès Lum, a model who was popular in Japan in the mid-70s. It is also known that Rumiko Takahashi considers Lum to be her less reserved alter ego, meaning the main character's personality is partially based on that of her creator.
