What's left behind the scenes
- The character's name, Shizuo Heiwajima, means "serene person" (shizuo) and "peaceful island" (heiwajima), although the character himself is incredibly short-tempered.
- The character's name, Izaya Orihara, combines the Japanese pronunciation of Isaiah (Izaya) and the term for 'one who looks at the crowd' (orihara). He is the one who manipulates all the characters, placing people in extreme situations and observing their reactions.
