What's left behind the scenes
- The series was filmed in Chicago. Firehouse 51 is actually Firehouse 18. 'Molly's', the bar co-owned by several characters, is Lottie's Pub in the Bucktown neighborhood.
- The scenes in the dining area were filmed both at the firehouse and in a studio. If a door is visible to the left of the stove, it was filmed in the studio. If there is a water fountain there, the filming took place at Firehouse 18.
- Anthony Ferraris still works as a firefighter. It is thanks to his participation and assistance that all the fire episodes look so realistic.
- In many emergency services (and the Chicago Fire Department is no exception), employees are not allowed to grow facial hair, as it may interfere with the airtight seal of a breathing mask. Mustaches are not considered an interference.
