What's left behind the scenes
- CBS executives wanted Nicholas Hammond to play Peter Parker after seeing him on stage in Los Angeles. Hammond agreed but stated that he wanted to make his character realistic; he didn't want the project to resemble the 'Batman' television series.
- CBS in the US aired a film that later developed into a series. It was the first Spider-Man project to be released in theaters, though its theatrical run was limited exclusively to Europe.
- Each episode took only seven days to film. To save time, one film crew shot scenes with Peter Parker, played by Nicholas Hammond, while a second crew simultaneously worked with Fred Ward, who played Spider-Man in the stunt scenes. Overall, Parker appeared in 85% of the scenes, while Spider-Man appeared in only 15%.
- The absence of many characters familiar to viewers in this project was explained by purely financial considerations. The rights to most of them belonged to their creators and Marvel Comics; therefore, using these characters would have required payment. Additionally, the costumes and corresponding props for these heroes would have cost the show's creators a significant sum.
- David White played Jameson in the two-hour pilot episode, but he was unable to participate in the filming of the series and was replaced by Robert F. Simon.
- The series 'The Amazing Spider-Man' (1977-1979) was cancelled not because of low ratings, but because CBS management was striving to shed its image as a 'superhero channel' during that period. This is precisely why the decision was made to close this project, as well as the 'Wonder Woman' series (1975-1979).
- Stan Lee, one of the creators of Spider-Man, did not hide his dissatisfaction with the series and stated repeatedly in interviews that the main character was portrayed 'too childishly' in this project.
