Short description
A vast international plot explodes when a beautiful Jane Doe is discovered naked in Times Square, completely covered in mysterious, intricate tattoos with no memory of who she is or how she got there. But there's one tattoo that is impossible to miss: the name of FBI agent Kurt Weller, emblazoned across her back. "Jane," Agent Weller and the rest of the FBI quickly realize that each mark on her body is a crime to solve, leading them closer to the truth about her identity and the mysteries to be revealed.

What's left behind the scenes
- In the second episode of the first season, after a drone explosion at the location where Jane and the FBI agents were situated, she exits the building; it is visible that her mole is under her right eye, as usual, but a few frames later, the mole appears under her left eye.
- The episode titles only seem like nonsense, but they are actually anagrams of English words: "Eight Slim Grins" is an anagram for "The Missing Girl," and the episode "A Stray Howl" is an anagram for "Taylor Shaw." Additionally, the titles of episodes 10 through 22 in season 2 are palindromes, meaning they read the same forward and backward. This occurs only one other time in the series—in the title of the series finale.
- In total, there are over two hundred images on Jane's (Jamie Alexander) body. According to tattoo designer Kristen Tinsley, the application process took six hours and required the efforts of three makeup artists.
- In the very first episode, an unknown girl discovers she is in Times Square. Times Square had to be closed off for the filming.
