What's left behind the scenes
- There are three children in the Otto family, and only Oliver was played by the same actor—Daniel DiMaggio—throughout the entire series. Taylor was played by Johnny Sequoia (pilot episode) and Meg Donnelly, while Anna-Kat was played by Julia Butters (first four seasons) and Giselle Eisenberg.
- Anna-Kat's favorite guinea pig is named Hans Gruber (after the main villain in John McTiernan's 1988 action film 'Die Hard', played by Alan Rickman). Masculine pronouns are used for the animal, although it is actually female.
- In the pilot episode, the role of Taylor Otto was played by Johnny Sequoia, but Meg Donnelly was later cast in the role.
- The fifth season of the series premiered in the fall of 2020, during the coronavirus pandemic. The creators of the series chose to pretend that there was no pandemic.
