What's left behind the scenes
- Becky Henderson was injured during filming. The puppet was so heavy that Henderson eventually became so pained that she couldn't take it and screamed. Due to the noise in the studio, only the sound engineer heard the scream, and he was even surprised by how genuine it sounded. Henderson's arm was examined by an osteopath who happened to be on set.
- Employees of Jim Henson's Creature Shop crafted the puppets in their Los Angeles workshops, after which they were transported to the set in London, where extensive rehearsals were required to refine the movements.
- While working on the original The Dark Crystal (1982), Jim Henson found it impossible to fit his arm into Jen's puppet head. Consequently, the crew decided to increase the size of all the puppets, making them easier and more convenient to operate.
- The titles of all the episodes use quotes from the original 1982 The Dark Crystal.
- Warwick Brownlow-Pike, who worked on the Chamberlain, sought to incorporate chick-like features into the character, particularly the way a chick tilts its head. He wanted to capture the spirit of Frank Oz, who worked on the first film, in the Chamberlain's persona.
