What's left behind the scenes
- According to Brian Cox, the courtroom scene in which recordings from concentration camps were shown had to be filmed several times, as some actors and crew members simply could not handle it and walked off the set.
- In reality, David Maxwell-Fyfe was 46 and Robert Jackson was 53. The former was played by Christopher Plummer and the latter by Alec Baldwin, yet Plummer is 28 years older than Baldwin.
- The defendants were played almost exclusively by Canadian actors (as filming took place in Canada). Herbert Knaup, who played Albert Speer (1905-1981), was one of the few actors of German descent involved in the production.
- The actor who played Julius Streicher (1885-1946), Sam Stone, is Jewish, and his father survived the horrors of the Holocaust. While footage filmed in concentration camps was being shown on screen, the actor struggled to remain composed but burst into tears as soon as the camera was turned off.
