What's left behind the scenes
- According to Gwyneth Paltrow, she did not want to act as she had lost interest in the acting profession, but she was persuaded by her husband Brad Falchuk and friend Ryan Murphy, the creators of the series along with Ian Brennan. Paltrow agreed on the condition that she would only film a couple of days a week to devote the rest of her time to her own company, Goop; if she disliked any of her character's lines, Falchuk would rewrite them.
- The introduction shows several books with the names of US presidents on the covers in the order they occupied the Oval Office—Ronald Reagan (1911-2004), Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama; then comes a book with 'Clowning for Idiots' on the cover. This is a jab at Obama's successor, Donald Trump.
