What's left behind the scenes
- The introduction to each episode features a figurine depicting the director of that episode; upon completion of the project, each director received their own figurine.
- At the beginning of each episode, Guillermo del Toro himself appears with a short introductory speech. This is an homage to Alfred Hitchcock, who similarly introduced the episodes in his own works.
- The term "cabinet of curiosities" originated in 16th-century Germany and comes from the German Kunstkabinett or Kunstkammer—a room, closet, or cabinet where diverse collections were kept.
